‘Princess Pearl 2’: Ep. 39 Recap — Princely Pride

EPISODE 39

Now that everyone is once again healthy and happy, the gang moves on to a new issue. Their money has run out so they will need to earn some to fund the rest of their trip. That’s a good issue to bring up, I’ve been wondering what these kids plan to do for a living.

Xiaoyanzi and Liu Hong suggest that they can do what they did before: perform on the street and ask for donation with a sob story.

There’s actually very little else they can do anyway. No time to start a new business now.

The other guys are on board, but Yongqi is a little uncomfortable with it all because to put on an act like that, one of them will have to pretend to donate generously to encourage the crowd. His royal pride just doens’t allow him to lie to his “people” like that.

And guess what? He does not cooperate the next morning when the girls perform.

Xiaojian is also kind of uncomfotable but he swallows it and plays his part anyway.

By the time Xiaojian makes up his mind, Xiaoyanzi is a little annoyed by them, so when Xiaojian steps out, she starts attacking him relentlessly, which turns out to be awesome entertainment for the crowd.

I won’t lie here, their chemistry is kinda good. And the crowd thinks so too, which only fuels Yongqi’s insecurities.

So when they get home, all of that gets spilled on Xiaoyanzi. Yongqi once again talks like a snob and accidentally belittles her.

Unfortuantely for Yongqi, everyone else is on Xiaoyanzi’s side, even Ziwei. Yep, Ziwei too.

So the second Xiaojian opens his mouth to defend Xiaoyanzi, Yongqi’s explodes. His “princely” attitude spills and he unintentionally insults Xiaoyanzi further.

And guess who catches the big picture immediately? Erkang. He spells out to Yongqi that Yongqi better climbs down from his high horse or Xiaojian will steal Xiaoyanzi away.

Later on that day, Ziwei tries to explain to Xiaoyanzi that Yongqi is jealous, but she doesn’t really get it. I mean, she does get it, kinda, but she doesn’t get what jealousy has to do with Yongqi insulting her.

In the end, Xiaoyanzi says she will go out to get some firewoods… well, that won’t help, but I guess she needs to vent her anger out on something. Better some random trees than furniture.

So here are the next mishaps that occur in the following confrontation:

Erkang tries to stop Xiaoyanzi.

Xiaoyanzi pushes him away.

Erkang gets hurt.

Xiaoyanzi drops her axe on Yongqi’s foot.

Xiaoyanzi drops her axe on her own foot. Xiaoyanzi and Yongqi hug. The end.

These kids…

I’m kind of wondering how they filmed this, though. Cause we all know Zhao Wei and Alec Su are the same height.

Ziwei and Erkang are sooo proud of their love therapy work. They look even happier than Yongqi and Xiaoyanzi.

Their dinner that day is a lot happier than lunch. Yongqi even apologizes to Xiaojian.

The next day. the gang go out to do another performance. Everything is going perfect when suddenly the Fish Net official approaches Erkang.

The gang has developed a fight-or-flight response to these men by now, so they all flee the scene without waiting for the official to talk, which is what he seems to be trying to do.
