I was wrong to think that Youqin Soul #2 was the worst they could throw at Yetan.
EPISODE 22
After Chaofeng’s speech about how he faked everything with Qingkui, Yetan feels her sister’s pain and is furious at Chaofeng. She pulls out her sword and stabs him.
Isn’t this a little too extreme? I mean, if you want to beat the guy up, then sure. But stabbing him at the heart?
Anyway, Qingkui stops Yetan before she chops Chaofeng into pieces. The sisters leave and go back to Dilanjue’s.
On one of his random trips, Qingheng finds the third – and, thankfully, final – soul piece. This one is a painter named Wenren with wavy hair and an established business in the city.
Yetan and the gang come to meet this Wenren guy when he is painting in the woods. He is immediately drawn to Yetan and proceeds to paint a flower on her face. Then, he showers her with poetry and flowery compliments – the kind of thing you shouldn’t listen to if you’ve just had a full meal.
But then, Yetan quickly discovers that Wenren is a player. What he does with her he does with every other girl he meets. He even hires an assistant to help him keep track of all the women he goes out with.
Not Yetan’s favorite side of Youqin. And definitely not my favorite Soul.
But what can the poor girl do? She must make this Soul fall in love with her like the other two. So begins the wooing process.
From Dilanjue’s gadget bag, Manman finds something that can help make this easier: a pair of amulet papers. You stick one piece on one person and someone else can control what they do and say from afar with the other piece.
Dilanjue is pretty much their Doraemon at this point.
Since Yetan isn’t very good at being seductive, the gang wants to use these papers so someone who is good at it can direct Yetan to steal Wenren’s heart with a script.
Yetan meets with Wenren and they carry out this plan. It’s doomed to fail even before they started but at least we get some laughs out of it.
In the meantime, Lamu misses Yetan. He’s been carving flowers out of rocks and waiting for her all this time.
