‘The Starry Love’: Ep. 20 Recap — Money and More Money

We’re making some progress with Meiyouqing. Yetan deserves better, though.

EPISODE 20

Yetan shows Meiyouqing with no difficulty that she is more than capable of making money. Catching bees, tricking bandits, designing vending machines, cooperating with birds (other than Manman), etc.

However, nothing she does is enough for Meiyouqing. The more money she earns, the more he wants. When he agrees to marry her, it is so he can get freebies and collect money from the wedding attendees.

But Yetan endures it all, as long as she can be around him, she is confident she can win his heart over. All I can say is: Lamu is a treasure compared to this guy.

One day, Yetan and Meiyouqing take a walk in the woods. They are discovered by Dingyun and his troops. Yetan knows it and asks Meiyouqing to act like he is the Heaven Crown Prince Youqin; they can’t let Dingyun know the real Youqin is dead.

Meiyouqing does what she asks but goes overboard with it. Instead of just saying things she directs him to say, he goes so far as to name all the well-known warriors of the Heaven.

Dingyun is confused, just as Yetan wants. In the end, he picks the safest option: let’s go home and ask Mommy what to do.

But these Void’s troops won’t be fooled for long, even if they are led by Dingyun. So Yetan dashes away to talk to her gang.

Meiyouqing waits for her the whole day but she doesn’t come back. He thinks she is mad at him because he’s so cheap. Well, that is also true.

He goes out to look for Yetan and keeps seeing her everywhere when she is nowhere near him at all. It’s a sign that he’s falling in looooove.

At last, Yetan comes back. Meiyouqing is so happy he pinches her cheek. Not with the same hand he plunged into that animals’ toilet the other day, I hope.

They continue their date and walk around town for the rest of the night. Meiyouqing actually buys Yetan gifts this time, even if he completely regrets it when he looks at the receipts later. Baby steps, but we’re getting there, Yetan.
