EPISODE 31 RECAP
The wedding continues in this episode for a bit. The bottom line is, Meng Dan is finally getting laid and it’s a relief for everyone.
In the palace, the emperor lets Lady Ling know that he knows she let Erkang go. Lady Ling doesn’t bother denying it. She even tells him that she did it on his behalf because she knew he couldn’t even though he wanted to. I admire their mutual understanding.
The next day, the group says goodbye. Hanxiang and Meng Dan head to a new destination.
Xiaoyanzi feels a little sad about their departure so she goes off on her own. Yongzi immediately runs after her, of course. They end up in an orchard and the trouble begins.
Xiaoyanzi wants to pick some fruits to bring home, but Yongqi thinks they should talk to the owner of the orchard first. Typical righteous prince Yongqi.
There’s some misunderstanding and they end up being chased by dogs back to their house.
It’s such a filler segment but it’s overloaded with cuteness so I won’t complain.
When they arrive at the farmer’s house, they find out that the officials are there again searching for the missing “princes and princesses”.
Due to Xiaoyanzi’s effective performance, the officials believe that they’re just a bunch of crazy kids and leave them alone.
The performance includes her swallowing papers and biting Yonqi. Though I don’t think Yongqi minds being bitten at all. He even looks at her with doubled adoration.
But the problem is… Xiaojian is also starting to look at her with adoration.
Erkang seems to notice everything, he changes the subject. But I think he is secretly enjoying the drama. I mean, how often does he get to watch someone else run into love problems?
Yongqi goes out in the front yard and vents his anger out on the drying grains on the ground. You see, they’re supposed to be spread out to dry, but now Yongqi is sweeping them into piles again. With a real rake. Yep, he is a dangerous man, guys.
Xiaoyanzi comes out, they talk about their issues. Basically, Yongqi doesn’t want Xiaoyanzi to act like an uneducated orphan all the time, stealing fruits and stuff when it’s not even necessary.
Xiaoyanzi gives him a piece of her mind, too. But in the end, they make up and each gives in a little. These two can never stay mad at each other for long.
But the time has come for the gang to be on their way. That night, Xiaojian fetches Erkang’s parents so they can have one last talk before they leave.
Erkang feels ultra guilty about the amount of stress he has dumped on his parents and I am all here for it.
He and Ziwei cry a bunch and the parents tell them not to worry about it, what’s done is done and they should just focus on not getting caught for now.

I sense some future conflict. And why not? I’d watch any kind of conflict this gang creates.
