Dream of Splendour – Unhelpful Recap (Ep. 24)

A couple of guys who work for the Gao family find Ouyang and force him to sign his divorce letter. Because he initially refused to, they beat him into submission. Well, I don’t know if this is Gao Hui or Daddy Gao’s idea, but it’s best to have Ouyang cut his ties with the Gao family for their collective good.

It is summer time and Pan’ers is thinking about expanding the menu of her teahouse. She wants to add some light dishes to attract more customers. But Yinzhang protests, she doesn’t want all kinds of people frequenting the teahouse. Their elegant tea art and music are too good to share the spotlight with things like raw fish. Unless they can get Qianfan over to perform his orange-chopping dance every time, of course.

You know, this.

Pan’er shares her idea with Qianfan, who also worries that expansion might do the teahouse’s reputation more harm than good. Not to mention that managing a restaurant is very different from managing a tea shop. That’s right, Pan’er, maybe you should stick to your niche for a while longer to establish stability before expanding.

That night, Qianfan talks to his father, who tells him that this Qi Mu does have to do with the Hat Demon thing and he himself (the father) is a target, just like a lot of other Lords. It’s all a scheme to see who can influence the emperor more.

Qianfan is like: Uhhhh… maybe you should get out of here then, Dad?

But Lord Xiao just laughs it off and walks to his boat while announcing loudly to the whole town that he is here.

The Hat Demon gang attack. Why do I feel like this Lord Xiao purposely puts himself in danger to see if Qianfan cares?
