EPISODE 27
Chaofeng leaves Qingkui that night and heads back to the Void Realm, but he leaves her a letter that explains where he has gone. Most male leads would just lie about it and say something like “our romance is over” to hurt the girl, but Chaofeng knows better. He knows Qingkui will figure it out no matter what, so why bother putting on an act? Hah, he’s so straightforward it’s almost funny.
Qingkui wakes up and finds the letter. Well, we’re going to the Void Realm, she decides.
Haichao and Sushui bow to Qingkui. Finally, someone is brave enough to stick with their reckless boss.
Chaofeng marches into the Void Palace and offers his life in exchange for his men’s. Wudai tries to help him – mostly because of Qingkui – but Chaofeng refuses, his mind is made up. He doesn’t want to drag anyone else into this.
The Void King grabs Chaofeng by the neck, his murderous mode fully activated. But Qingkui rushes in just in time to stop whatever was going to happen. Wudai offers to help Qingkui too, but just like Chaofeng, her mind is made up. These two are determined to die a glorious death, Wudai, you can’t stop them.
When Qingkui interferes, the king releases Chaofeng, and he ACTUALLY lets Qingkui talk. I mean… this guy is a lot more reasonable than I expected.
Qingkui explains that Dingyun only died because he was caught in the rivalry that the Void King himself set upon his sons. So whose fault is it really, huh?
The Void King reflects on the fact that he has lost one son, and perhaps he agrees with Qingkui. But he still throws them both in prison.
This doesn’t put Qingkui down one bit. When Chaofeng’s men come to pledge their loyalty to him, she tells them she wants something done. Chaofeng is definitely nervous to hear this, he thinks she’s going to burn down the palace and rebel or something.
But no, Qingkui asks the men to be witnesses for their wedding ceremony, which they will hold here.
Chaofeng hesitates a little because hey, it’s a prison; and Qingkui deserves better than this. But is there ever anything that Chaofeng denies Qingkui? Nope. So if she wants a wedding in this damp, cold, dark prison, she is… going to get one.
The soldiers, led by the friendly jailer, find them two nuptial candles; and that’s good enough for Chaofeng and Qingkui. They get married.
The men shout their congrats. Er… keep your voices down, guys. Chaofeng and Qingkui are in enough trouble as it is.
Up in the Heaven, Youqin and Yetan are less tragic. Yetan takes Youqin out to play mahjong with the three deities and they win a lot of money and treasures.
As they divide that money among themselves, Yetan casually shares with Youqin some of her childhood stories. She was neglected and abused and that breaks Youqin’s heart.
You know, Youqin, as heartwarming as your bonding time with Yetan is, I’m sure your mother has a lot of stories she would like to share too since she was forced to separate from you when you were a kid. You may think about visiting her once in a while?
At the Beast Palace, Dilanjue’s mother has a surprise for him. She has signed him up for classes at the Heaven. She wants him and Ziwu to get it on fast. What? His education? Yeah, that too.
Biqiong tries to give Dilanjue and Yetan a hard time, but Ziwu and Qingheng stand up for them. Our heroes have been through so much together that they can’t not take each other’s side.
After school that day, Youqin is annoyed because guess what? Yetan has HOMEWORK. The audacity of these teachers! How dare they interrupt his romance progress with something as trivial as education.
