‘Love Between Fairy & Devil’: Ep. 11 Recap – Body Switching (Again)

Following that not-so-accidental kiss from Orchid — combined with the thunderstorms — they switch bodies again. Orchid did this to find out whether Devy was making those thunders on purpose to annoy her. Her motive is innocent, but she ends up once more in the powerful body of Devy. Turns out, he did create the thunderstorm on purpose after all.

But things get complicated when it’s time for Devy to go to a special court meeting today. It’s a party his officials throw to celebrate his return. Orchid doesn’t like the outfit she has to wear for this occasion. And I don’t blame her, look at the size of those tree branches around the shoulders.

But Orchid soon finds that the outfit is the least of her problem. The court is expecting a demonstration of Devy’s power, they want him to personally execute a spy from the Heaven court to make a point. Orchid is horrified and refuses to. Not that she could even lift Devy’s sword.

This, of course, turns what was supposed to be a solemn gathering into a comedy night in which the audience is more confused than entertained.

When the meeting ends, Orchid goes back to Devy’s room to find herself surrounded by beautiful women, no doubt sent to “serve” Devy. One of those is actually a spy of Ronghao.

Orchid gets fed up and shoos them all away, then sits down for a little heart-to-heart with the Black Dragon assistant Shangque. It turns out, Devy himself has never taken the time to get to know his loyal assistant, and Orchid thinks Shangque deserves better.

Out of nowhere, Devy — in Orchid’s body — barges in and tries to pin Orchid onto the bed to reverse that kiss. Shangque, thinking that this is just one of their lovers’ rifts, flees the room in embarrassment, despite Orchid’s calls for help.

Devy and Orchid then take turns trying all sorts of thing to undo the spell — casting magic, squishing each other’s faces.

But neither of them can think of any real solution for now.

At Ronghao’s place, we find that he has been in contact with Xunfeng, Devy’s brother. Xunfeng lets us know him in this episode the reason he can’t stand Devy: As a child, he watched Devy kill their father with his own hands. OK, that’s a valid reason to look like a prick all the time.

Now, through his spy, Ronghao knows that Devy and Orchid have the Destiny Book he wants and that Devy is not himself. Hopefully he doesn’t also know the recent scandal in the bedroom.
