Eternal Love of Dream – Unhelpful Recap (Episode 55)

Qingti is revived and he meets Fengjiu again in this episode. The two of them put the awkward wrist-holding past behind them and agree to be friends.

Donghua gets a break from his fight against the demon lady and comes back to the heaven palace for a while. He names Qingti his successor; everyone is shocked by this decision.

He and Fengjiu finally manage to have a conversation. Donghua apologizes, gives Fengjiu a ring, and asks her forgiveness. He says he hasn’t been well and asks whether he can have another chance with her.

But Fengjiu has had enough. She leaves the rings, wishes him good luck, and walks out.

I’m not sure what Donghua means by this proposal, though. Would he have explained to Fengjiu the real demon situation and let her help if she’d agreed to stay with him? I doubt it. So does he just want some brief lovey-dovey time before he gets axed in the next battle? Because he obviously knows he’s going to get it with the demon lady being so strong.

Anyway, Donghua is off to battle again. At home, one of Fengjiu’s friends slips out and now all her friends have to take turns explaining everything to her.

With the magnitude of this news, I’m surprised it hasn’t dominated the entire heaven realm already. Why is everybody still acting like it’s a secret? And where are the powerful Crown and Crown Princess during all this??

So, Donghua’s assistant Chonglin is the one who talks the most during their discussion about Donghua’s “noble” nature. He explains to Fengjiu about the demon, the ring Donghua made by cutting out half of his heart – yes, apparently, Donghua took Fengjiu’s request for his heart quite literally – how Donghua spent a lot of energy bursting them out of Aranya’s dream, an ultimately, how he defies the Stone of Fate to stay with Fengjiu. That stone is still in business, I see.

In the end, Chonglin snaps at Fengjiu for treating Donghua too harshly, and Fengjiu starts crying from this information overload.

  1. I really like when Vengo Gao has the chance to be emotional… like it in Ten miles, like it in his under the rain scene, love it like Shen Ye, and just nail it when he’s apologizing to Feng… maybe I just like him too much jajajajaja
