Eternal Love of Dream – Unhelpful Recap (Episode 26)

Fengjiu and Si-ming sit down for one of their gossip sessions. Si-ming tells her there’s a rumor going around that Donghua has been seen with a girl in the royal bathroom. Nooo, you don’t say, Fengjiu is shocked.

But she calms down shortly when she learns that people are actually thinking Chengyu was that girl.

Next, after being told that Donghua is alone in the heaven hall, she storms in and demands her bracelet back from Donghua, which she’s sure he has taken when she was in the pool last time. She is feisty and tries to shame him for it.

But he is unfazed and smiling at her like: girl, I thrive in shame. Can you do the same?

Turns out, there are a bunch of people on the second floor of the hall watching them this whole time.

Fengjiu quickly diffuses the rising whispers and elegantly apologizes for her interruption.

But despite her effort to neutralize things, Donghua detains her and holds out the bracelet, along with some dried flowers, while making sure everyone see it. You interrupted my meeting for this? Well, here it is, along with some potential rumors you’ll have to distinguish.

During the next party — something these heaven people seem to have endless time for – Fengjiu gets drunk. Drunk Fengjiu is the cutest Fengjiu. Guess who carries her back to her quarters and places his purple robe on her when she’s sleeping? AGAIN. Seriously, is he giving out samples to promote his private designer’s business or what?

This time, Fengjiu has had enough. She wraps the two purple robes up and throws them into Donghua’s backyard.

All this while, Zhihe continues to cling to Donghua and be unecessary.

COMMENTS

The flirting/teasing has gotten to a new level in this episode; and even though there many flaws with the way this drama has written Donghua and with the directing itself, his secret love for pranks makes him so different from other stone-face male leads and refreshing to watch.

Among other things, there is a blatant problem that just needs to be addressed for once: A-li’s dubbed voice. Holy… Children’s voices in C-dramas are always a problem because most of the time they are made to try too hard to sound cute, but this one is especially terrible. It’s kind of an attempt at the “I’m always a happy kid” voice with no rise or fall and absolutely no emotion.
