This episode is pretty straightforward.
First of all, Donghua returns from the trial and discovers the biggest secret of the universe: tears come out of the eyes.
We all know what the tears are for, of course: the man kinda, sorta feels like crap and probably believes now that Fengjiu and General Ye were a thing.
In the Demon Realm, Jiheng is finally conscious thanks to the nice Demon Lord’s help. She acknowledges his kindness, but then makes up a story to drive him away so SHE can be out of his sight and cause him no more trouble. Good choice. Weak or not, Jiheng needs time to figure out how she wants to move on from here. Unless, of course, she’s planning something ridiculous again.
Fengjiu returns to Qingqiu after the trial, still wearing the drab outfit and the white hair ribbon. When Chengyu asks what they are for, she answers, “Ye Qingti.” That look in her eyes when she says Qingti’s name can definitely do some damage to… erm, someone.
Fengjiu then goes into the cave to meet her aunt. We see Yang Mi again, who’s trying her best to act as Bai Qian. Well, effort acknowledged.
Anyway, they carry out a loving-family conversation. Basically, Bai Qian tells Fengjiu that despite how strict the Bai family might seem, Fengjiu should rest assured that they will always cover up for her mistakes and deal with the consequences of her choices. Yes, kingdoms can run by themselves as long as their leaders are beautiful — you keep telling yourself that, Bai Qian, and hope that Yehua and Moyuan will continue to be available to, in turn, pick up the slack for you.
In the meantime, the Earring Demon Lord decides to hand over the green stone to the big bad imprisoned Demon Lady. This means Donghua won’t get the break he wants, I guess.
Prince Liansong tries his best to reconcile with Chengyu, but all in vain. The girl is eternally annoyed with him.
