The good news: the drama has finally picked up its pace. A few exciting things happen in this episode and get resolved fast.
Donghua tells Fengjiu about his sad childhood, where his father didn’t spend much time with him. Fengjiu reflects that she would like to give Donghua a hug.
And I guess the sugar level is way too high even for a drama writer like Si-ming, because right afterward, he personally makes a trip to see Fengjiu to remind her that she will need to think of a way to break Donghua’s heart soon.
Jiheng is still smiling her pretence smile and doing nothing important.
Someone breaks into the imperial tomb. Fengjiu and General Ye share a little moment after they both defended the place from this intruder. Things are a little awkward since he still likes her but she’s basically clueless and lives by her aunt’s logic – all guys just want to be your buddy.
He expresses that since he is the one who found and brought her to the palace, he feels responsible for her and will help her in any way he can if she is ever not happy. Yeah… you’re going to need to drop a bigger hint than that, denseness runs in this fox family.
Fengjiu then shares with him a story of a certain man whom she used to love and has caused her a lot of pain. General Ye calls this guy an idiot.
If Fengjiu will have to use the general for this love triangle Si Ming demands, sign me up for the drama.
Back to the non-romance stuff, Jiheng sneaks around Fengjiu’s room to look for information on the glowing stone. The maid that Jiheng has a weird relationship with tries to break into the tomb again (yes, it was her the last time too).
But it turns out, Donghua, Fengjiu, and General Ye have been laying traps for them all along. Oh, so you WERE doing useful things, huh, Donghua? I’m sorry for thinking you were only good for roasting sweet potatoes.
Above is Donghua’s “don’t judge an emperor’s competence by his collar” look.
When they are found out, the maid sacrifices herself to save Jiheng; but Donghua doesn’t buy the lie and imprisons Jiheng anyway. Thank you.
… yes still voting for Ye.. sorry Donghua, you’re just too, slow? in this life.
