Pan’er moves on to the next part of her plan to seduce Zhou She: giving him a taste of money. Even though she wants nothing more than to see him getting beat up by his debtors, she pays off some of his debts and watches him get a big head. On the other hand, she feeds him the idea that if he wants more money, he has to divorce Yinzhang. She also purposely gives him a glimpse of her valuable possessions.
Who knew that mini soap bar Qianfan gave her could be traded for so much money?
Poor Pan’er though, she is thoroughly disgusted by every interaction with Zhou She.
Meanwhile, Gu Qianfan gets set up and ambushed by someone he thought was his friend. Now, Qianfan may have a delicate physique and a baby face, but he takes care of all the assassins and walks out of there like a boss.
Afterward, he visits Pan’er, who is washing her hands vigorously to get Zhou She’s alcoholic stench off of her. Qianfan lifts her mood by saying that she has always been beautiful and pure to him.
They have a little chat and some snacks. Qianfan suddenly realizes something he has not known before: Pan’er IS beautiful. Yes, great discovery, dude.
He makes a marriage joke before he can stop himself. But Pan’er quickly brushes it off by saying she doesn’t mind his jokes because they are friends. BAM. Friend-zoned.
Although, it’s pretty clear from Pan’er’s face that she doesn’t believe she and Qianfan can ever be due to their different backgrounds. The girl is insecure underneath it all.
But Qianfan’s assistant is one smart guy, he KNOWS. His master is slowly falling for Pan’er and you just know he’s going to help get this ship on the right course.
That night, Yinzhang stages a fight with Zhou She. And because Zhou She’s neighbors are pretty easily bought — could be that they already hate him to begin with — Yinzhang is able to cause a ruckus and humiliate him in front of a lot of people.
Faced with more pressure from Pan’er and his own increasing greed, Zhou She decides to get a divorce immediately. They do this with dozens of witnesses and trick Zhou She into giving Yinzhang the title of his estate as compensation for the dowry money he took from her.
San-niang and Yinzhang get the crowd to cooperate too.
When Zhou She finds out he’s been duped, he brings the matter to court. And if the world is fair, there is no way this unprepared and embarrassing guy can win a case against Pan’er.
She keeps the receipt of every transaction she has ever made in this city as evidence to argue her case, and Zhou She… literally tries to eat a piece of evidence in front of the judge.
