Pan’er checks on Qianfan’s wounds from the fight. For an injured person, he’s pretty talkative, so much that Pan’er has to kiss him to shut him up for a bit.
They have another boat date afterward.
Over at Ruozuo’s place, Yinzhang isn’t exactly happy. And I’m not surprised. Ruzuo is not what Yinzhang wants at all. She is just in a hurry to establish something for herself. She moves in with Ruzuo because it gives her the feeling of establishment.
To make her smile, Ruzuo tries a lot of things, some more cringe-inducing than others. Surprised kisses, gifts, bridal carrying in broad daylight. But none of these things truly makes Yinzhang happy. She does smile a little when he orders her favorite gemstone to be brought to her feet, but we can all tell she won’t be smiling for long. There’s something out there that you want, Yinzhang; and I’m pretty sure it isn’t Ruzuo’s poetry or pouts.
Qianfan gets praised by the emperor and promoted. But he isn’t truly happy about it. Goodness, no one is happy lately. Especially when his father congratulates him. He’s like, if my father approves of what I do then I must be doing something wrong.
He responds to every statement of congratulation that he only wants a comfortable life with Pan’er.
