Pan’er and her two lady friends are having a chat when a woman suddenly bursts in, asking to see San-niang. While she looks like she is about to shove a cake in someone’s face, she actually just wants to tell San-niang how much she admires the Tofu trick San-niang did the other day.
This kitchen lady is totally a food person, so when she finds that San-niang is a great cook, she begs to work together right away. Praying for a great friendship for these two.
Yinzhang is a little bored these days. She’s still a little unbalanced and doesn’t know how to be more helpful. But fate has its way! On the day San-niang is kidnapped befriended by the kitchen lady, Yinzhang runs into a famous musician in the city, Haohao. The two get off on music right away because it’s a topic Yinzhang has always been passionate about. Note that back then she was more pissed at her husband for touching her Pipa than for beating her up. Girl has priorities.
But their fun is short-lived in this episode. Why? Because Ouyang Xu is spineless. No, not evil, his caretaker De is evil. HE is just spineless. De bribes some officers to beat up Pan’er and her friends to make them stop chanting in front of Ouyang’s house.
Ouyang feels kinda sorry about it, but because he doesn’t have a better solution, he watches Pan’er get beaten, then comes out when it’s all done to tell the guy not to do it again. *eye-roll* Though, we gotta give credit to the actor for portraying Ouyang Xu exactly as this kind of character needs to be portrayed.
Exiled and humiliated, Pan’er and Friends decide to go back to their home village. But they run into Gu Qianfan on the way.
Pan’er admits her mistake to him. He then gives her a long “I told you so” speech, followed by a prep talk that motivates her and the other two ladies to go back to the city to finish their business.
First things first, they need a doctor. Pan’er can’t help crying out when her wounds are treated by the doctor so Qianfan has to take charge. And what technique does Qianfan use to ease Pan’er’s pain that is better than the doctor’s, you may ask? He’s got one hand on her nape. Yep, people.
Qianfan’s assistant — Chen Lian — knows what to do, though. He shoos everyone out of the room so Qianfan can continue to play physician. At one point, Qianfan even tries to convince Pan’er to let him look at the injury on her shoulder too, then they get into a lovers’ tiff about who undressed whom first back then, to San-niang’s horror.
Later on, Qianfan moves on to interrogating the officer who accepted the bribe from Ouyang and abused his power with Pan’er. He wanted to sentence the guy to ten days in jail but Pan’er says she doesn’t want Qianfan to stir up trouble because of her. She asks for a confession letter from the officer which will contain all the bad deeds Ouyang committed on this occasion, and that’s that.
