‘Princess Pearl 2’: Ep. 15 Recap — Hanxiang, Are You Sure About This Guy?

Hanxiang’s medicine ends up saving Ziwei, after all. We don’t know what’s in them, but it’s sure better than whatever the imperial doctors have been using.

And as always, Erkang makes his feelings known vividly.

Afterwards, Qing’er goes back and talks to the dowager, she is quite serious this time: I don’t want Erkang. Qing’er says that she is so touched by Ziwei and Erkang’s love that she doesn’t want anyone to break them up. Probably it’s her way of saying Erkang is too much for her to handle; she did, after all, see him bawl like a baby in Ziwei’s room.

So the dowager finally gives up.

Ziwei wakes up. Yay! Erkang is so happy that he feels like even Xiaoyanzi’s crappy poetry is great.

Small note here: Ruby Lin just has that uncanny ability to make every cheesy line not cheesy. While everything that comes out Erkang sounds like a soap opera; from Ziwei, it becomes perfectly elegant and classy.

Anyway, a bit later, Lord Fu stops by to visit Ziwei. He suggests that as soon as Ziwei is well again, she and Erkang should get married. All this suspense and outbreaks from Erkang haven’t been fun for Lord Fu at all.

The empress worries that she might be punished over this and wants to give up causing trouble, but Nanny Rong says everything should be OK since the emperor would never harm the mother of one of his sons and so they should be free to continue scheming. This woman is the devil, I’m telling you. At this point, I feel sorry for the empress for having a companion like her.

The empress’ son is actually a nice kid, though.

The gang goes out to visit the restaurant and to let Xiaoyanzi continue her training with Meng Dan.

Everything goes pretty well until Xiaoyanzi feels tired and wants to stop. That’s when Meng Dan suddenly goes crazy and starts chopping everything up with his sword, yelling about himself being useless. Well, you’ve got a point there.

It’s not that I’m against these guys showing their emotions when they’re desperate, but the way they let Meng Dan do it in this episode just makes me question Hanxiang’s taste in men (again).

If this is just Meng Dan’s way of asking for an update on Hanxiang from the gang (cause he does calm down when Erkang starts talking about Hanxiang), then… you maniacal jerk, couldn’t you just use words? Even angry words would do, what did you lash out at Xiaoyanzi and destroy all that furniture for!

Now, with Ziwei back and healthy, Erkang gets his mojo back and feels like living dangerously, I guess. He suggests Meng Dan take a trip to the palace so Hanxiang can see him and decide what they really want to do.
