Chaofeng stays in his room and stares at the plant-Qingkui. He does that a lot nowadays. Yetan comes in to discuss her next move. She wants to make the Heaven King pay.
They agree that Chaofeng will stay behind and possibly take care of the mortal king if anything happens to Yetan. Haichao stays too. Oh good, not sure I want Haichao to be caught in whatever is about to happen between Yetan and Youqin.
It’s actually not that hard anymore, though. You see, Youqin has remembered everything.
After their little “moment” in the Void Realm, he begins to question stuff. Feichi and Youqin’s other assistant are also determined to help him. They physically contain the annoying spy guy at one point so he can’t run to the Heaven King and be a tattletale anymore.
As for Yetan, she gets Erlang and most of the Heaven troops to be on her side, so the Heaven King doesn’t stand a chance at this point.
Youqin makes a dramatic entrance to let his father know he will never harm Yetan. It’s more dramatic than anything Erkang from Princess Pearl has ever done, and that says something.
Husui wants the Heaven King dead so that the clan of Dongqiu can be avenged, but Yetan decides only to take his power away.
Youqin is grateful, Husui is pissed. This girl later on runs back to the ruins of Dongqiu and screams revenge to the sky. I know what’s about to happen. Who doesn’t, at this point, really. Still, that doesn’t mean I won’t be disappointed with what the drama will be, because it has shown us what it could be.
Yetan isn’t happy, not yet, because she still misses her sister, obviously. She wanders out and finds her father, Dilanjue, and Ziwu dealing with the angry Void Soldiers who were dragged into her cause.
To the drama’s credit, it does give Yetan a moment to reflect on how she has gone overboard with her power. But in the same scene, her precious boyfriend implies that it’s completely okay for her not to consider these consequences at all, and that she was never meant to find out what has been going on behind the screen.
Then, later on, he brings her some wontons.
You know, as someone with leadership experience, what Youqin should have said to Yetan – a fellow leader – at this point is: sure, it’s good to think before taking action. Or something along that line. Then, we would have had a meaningful exchange between two people with different backgrounds who are forced into their roles as leaders.
What is with this trend of male love interests who are incapable of any opinion beyond “I will support you no matter what you do”?
