EPISODE 24
Yetan is having second thoughts about reviving Youqin. First of all, she has come to see the three soul pieces as three different humans. Secondly, now that she has seen how the Souls enjoy life, she doesn’t want Youqin to return to the boring Heaven and do nothing except training and meditate all day.
When Wenren comes back from his apology trip that day, he finds something on the floor of his restaurant that Yetan didn’t mean for him to find: one of her hear-all earrings. It’s a gadget set she has been using to read Wenren’s thoughts.
Yetan bursts in at the same time because she has also noticed the missing earring, but Wenren has already figured out what’s been going on.
He starts to believe that Yetan is only doing this to win him over and then drop him like a dead fish. He can’t tell if she’s sincere or is a player. Wenren is very sensitive to this matter, of course, because he used to be a player himself.
Yetan goes home that day pretty miserable. But Manman doesn’t think it matters anymore because all three Souls are already in love with Yetan. They just need to put them together and Youqin will return.
Yetan reluctantly agrees with Manman and they go back to Dilanjue’s place, where Ziwu is petting Dilanjue one last time before she goes back to the Heaven Realm. She still thinks of him as A’cai the puppy. It doesn’t need to be goodbye for them, though, since the Beast Parents are very much on their ship.
Yetan meets her other two “husbands” again and attempts to tell them the truth. But here’s the problem: Meiyouqing puts on a puppet show for her, so she can’t bear to break his heart.
Let’s go to Lamu, then. Uh-oh, it’s even worse. Lamu has made her an entire collection of household items from pure rocks. His heart is even more fragile than Meiyouqing’s.
A bit later, Qingkui arrives. Yetan is happy to see her sister until she realizes Chaofeng is also here.
Although, Yetan softens when she hears how Chaofeng saved Qingkui’s life. This makes her think about her own problem with the Souls.
Dilanjue and his men try their best to heal Chaofeng. In the end, Dilanjue informs them that Chaofeng lives but has lost all his powers and will have to fare like a mortal from now on. Okay, but, like… Dilanjue is not a doctor, so can we get a second opinion? Chaofeng hasn’t even explored all of his potentials, you can’t take his powers away, drama!
Yetan talks to Qingkui that night about her dilemma. Qingkui reminds her that all those Souls belong to Youqin; they are the same as him, so it isn’t all that bad to let them return to Youqin. Duh.
Yetan concludes that it is Youqin she’s concerned about. She isn’t sure whether returning to the Heaven is the right choice for him.
Qingheng and Ziwu overhear the conversation. They grow worried that Yetan won’t go through with the plan, so they take things into their own hands. And let me tell you, these two siblings mean business. They want their brother back.
They trick Yetan into meeting Wenren at his restaurant and, at the same time, send the other two Souls over too. It’s only a matter of time before the three Souls meet and Yetan won’t be able to delay the matter anymore.
