The next “Youqin” isn’t appealing.
EPISODE 18
The fire goes out of control again, Lamu runs back into the stone hut to contain it. (If I haven’t mentioned this before: Lamu hides that disastrous Heaven Oven inside his hut.)
Yetan returns in time. Qingheng uses the magic water to put out the fire once and for all.
They leave the town and head to Dilanjue and Manman’s home realm: the Beast Kingdom.
Dilanjue isn’t doing very well. No no, he’s healthy and has recovered from the energy drain. It’s just that… when he was A’cai the puppy, Ziwu put a diaper on him.
How can he face her now?
But face her he must, because Ziwu is let in his room by his meddling parents. He tries to shoo her away but Ziwu cries. How could he say nothing when he knew she missed her dog? Oh no, this melts Dilanjue’s puppy heart and he apologizes.
The rest of the gang, including Lamu, arrive. Dilanjue welcomes them with a comment he had never found the right opportunity to make before: Youqin is dumb.
I mean… yeah, it’s not completely wrong.
Anyway, Yetan asks Dilanjue to let Lamu stay here while they go and look for the next soul piece. Dilanjue refuses at first but Ziwu reminds him that she has something on him:
DOG. DIAPER.
Make yourself at home, Dilanjue says. And the gang does.
Yetan and Manman set out to find the next “Youqin”. They find him pretty quickly but let’s just say that they wished they didn’t.
This Youqin is the head of an assassin gang – ruthless, greedy, rude. But you know what breaks the deal? This guy dips in hand into running wastewater – also a toilet for the city’s animals – to pick up a coin, and then WIPES HIS HAND ON HIS ROBE.
