It’s a chaotic day for Qingkui.
EPISODE 16
Youqin’s portraits are hung all over the city. What idiot(s) did this, I wonder? This makes Qingkui nervous because what if Chaofeng and his troops find out about Yetan’s plan? She doesn’t know that Chaofeng already knows.
Qingkui spends her day ushering Chaofeng and Haichao around the city and trying to hide those posters from them. Chaofeng plays along, he doesn’t seem to be that bothered by the fact that Qingkui is delaying him. In fact, he looks almost proud that she’s learning these sneaky little tricks so fast.
Haichao plays dumb, but then he lets Qingkui drink some heavy beverages which make her fall asleep.
Chaofeng’s priority list update: the throne is still on top.
And guess what? We’ve found the idiots who put up those posters: Youqin’s siblings. They did it to look for his other soul pieces. Okay, fineeee, we can forgive these cuties, can’t we?
Lamu watches a married couple fight from a hill. You see, this is how he learns human behaviors. The husband and wife pair argue like two street vendors fighting for customers and then kiss like a newlywed couple.
This gives Lamu an idea.
When Yetan comes and checks on him next, he grabs and kisses her and asks her to be his wife. I’m not sure he even understands what “husband and wife” means, but I’ll go along with it.
Yetan is stunned, but she says yes. Finally, one soul piece is under control!
Although, when Yetan asks Lamu to leave the village with her, he says no again. Here’s the full reason: a year ago, on the day he came into being and shot down from the sky, a stove that belongs to the Heaven went down with him. It is the cause of all the fire accidents around here and Lamu makes a point to protect the village from it.
Magic-stove story aside, doesn’t this mean Lamu is like… one year old?
In the meantime, Dilanjue and Princess Ziwu are captured by the Beast King’s soldiers.
Dilanjue’s father is mad at him. At this point, I’m sure no parent in here would not be mad with their kids, considering the things they’re doing.
Inside his father’s prison, Dilanjue and Ziwu are attacked and chased by a group of murderous hounds. It’s not a very organized system.
Cornered and out of options, Dilanjue gathers all his magical powers and gives them to Ziwu in the form of a pearl so she can use it to defend herself. Weakened, he is forced to turn into his true form: A’cai the puppy. Right in front of Ziwu. Will our boy be able to live this one down?
