The Tibetan King asks the emperor where his daughters are since only his sons are present. The emperor responds that women are not supposed to receive guests, according to Daqing’s law. The Tibetan King laughs at this.
Daughters are as important as sons, he says. True enough, Tibet is a matriarchal region. The emperor is obviously unprepared for this, so he’s just like, yeah ok let’s go in.
The king and the emperor hold a diplomatic martial arts competition where each side present their best warriors. The bratty Tibetan princess Saiya and Xiaoyanzi cheer their champions on as they fight, yelling and jumping and blocking the emperor and the king’s view. Seriously, these girls need to sit down. Mischievous is one thing, rude is another.
The Tibetan champions seem to be winning, but things take a turn when Er’kang enters the arena. He beats the best of the Tibetan warriors. Xiaoyanzi is like, you chose your man well, Ziwei. Unhappy with this outcome, Princess Saiya joins the competition. She flies in and requests to fight Er’kang.
This is a problem because of course Er’kang doesn’t want to fight a princess, so he starts dodging and disarms her; when she has no weapon left, he moves on to snatch her headdress. Yay, Er’kang wins.
The princess changes her attitude towards Er’kang, bats her eyelashes at him and whispers something to her father.
The emperor visits Xiaoyanzi and Ziwei that day in a good mood because his warriors have won the competition. He talks to Ziwei afterwards, asking her if she wants to be something more than just a maid to him. Oh no… no! Er’kang, now is the time to panic! Somebody, please panic. This is getting out of control!
When the emperor leaves, Xiaoyanzi and Jinsuo tell Ziwei right away that they can’t keep this secret anymore. And you know things are getting bad if even Xiaoyanzi feels like something is wrong.
After that competition, the Boy Trio is charged with showing Saiya around the city. The princess can’t sit still and the boys can’t keep up.
Next, Lady Ling visits the girls and hammers it in some more that Ziwei is about to become the emperor’s concubine. You know, at this point, getting beheaded sounds like a treat.
