Eternal Love of Dream – Unhelpful Recap (Episode 44)

Fengjiu and Donghua hang out in the city. She insists on buying him stuff and showing him how to have fun since she believes he has never had a childhood — not a normal one anyway — being born from a rock and all. Donghua accommodates this wish of hers, even going so far as to wear this mask she bought.

But lo and behold, the Demon Lady’s astral form is there too. She’s still looking for a fight with Donghua.

Back at the palace, Moye is having a hard time working with the cauldron alone. Apparently, Donghua was supposed to help him but left because those candies Fengjiu sent moved Donghua so much that he decided spending time with her was more important. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Since when did a goofy guy like Moye become more responsible than you?

In the middle of their date, the Demon Lady appears and causes a ruckus, making Donghua chase after her.

Fengjiu goes home alone and is told that the people at Shenye’s place really need her help. It turns out he has been drinking. A lot. Hmm, which Donghua to choose?

Fengjiu stays and takes care of Shenye. He can tell that she’s a completely different person but can’t help his attraction to Aranya’s face. And of course, Donghua comes back just in time to get a glimpse of this rising chemistry. Enough for him to barge into the room and knock Shenye out.

He asks Fengjiu to be careful with the role she plays and to trust him with his plan to get them out of the Dream. But Fengjiu gets emotional about it. She isn’t sure she wants to escape; she believes that once they are out in the real world, Donghua will be a cold and distant god again and she will forever be a pet fox to him. Yeah… listen, I don’t think there’s any way Donghua will give up being a puppy around you, OK, now that he’s gotten a taste of it.

Seriously for a moment though, why would Fengjiu assume all of that when Donghua has made it clear that he likes her?

  1. I kind of get it… she can separate her “fox self” from herself I think, so for her all that he has done in the end feal like a “betrayal” i think?… but since the script in the series is not so serious about we cannot take that serious either… i don’t really know but that’s how it made me feel at the time I watch it.

Yes, they kind of just touched on the subject. Not enough to make us take it seriously
