‘You Are My Glory’: Ep. 26 – 30 Recap — Fluff Suffocation

I’m not sure how to recap these episodes because nothing actually… happens (?), but I’ll try my best.

EPISODES 26 – 30

So, three main mini-arcs take place here.

The first one: Yutu and Jingjing navigate their love life while being apart.

Jingjing is with her film crew in a desert, filming a period drama, while Yutu works in the same place in the city.

Jingjing has a rival who plays a role in her drama. This rival actress is proud of her rich boyfriend and thinks of herself as Jingjing’s superior. But only until Yutu shows up and his usual thoughtfulness wins over the entire crew.

He installs a signal reception station that helps everyone with their phone issue.

Yutu is perfect. In his perfect outfit with the perfect sunglasses.

Second arc: Jingjing’s actor friends invite her and Yutu over for dinner. These friends try their best to impress him with their new script by researching a lot and making it intellectual.

But Yutu points out the plot holes in the script and immediately becomes the film director’s new consultant.

See? Yutu is perfect.

Last arc: Yutu proposes and the couple plans for their wedding.

They plan to go for a group wedding along with Yutu’s friends at the aerospace institute. Yutu has reservations because he wants to give Jingjing a memorable day where she doesn’t have to share it with anyone else. He even proposes a second time to make sure it’s romantic enough. Yutu is perfect.

But Jingjing says she wants the group wedding. She doesn’t like unnecessary attention on that day or for her wedding to be a trending event online. She also manages to convince all four parents to go along with it.

On their wedding day, the makeup person is stuck in a car accident, leaving all the brides frantic because now no one will do their makeup. But worry not, Jingjing has a whole makeup team and she is more than willing to lend them to the poor, disappointed brides.

You know what else I’ve learnt besides the fact that Yutu is perfect? Why, Jingjing is perfect!

I don’t get it. Why did the makeup incident need to happen?

COMMENTS

As much as I have enjoyed previous episodes, I’d say I could have lived without eps. 26 – 30. There’s not much of a story or development anymore, just very domestic issues that have ceased to be interesting because they’ve become too repetitive. Every time something that looks like a serious problem is introduced, it turns out to be not an issue at all and is resolved in a low-key fashion, which works well for a while.

We’ll discuss more in the final review.

There are a few things that I do find interesting in these episodes: Jingjing’s reflection on her career and how she wants to build a brand that lasts, for example; or the beautiful stage they made for the group wedding.

Also, the proposal is actually memorable. Not the second one! The first low-key one that is perfectly in tune with their low-key relationship.
