EPISODE 35
Things proceed just as we expected: Liu Qing looooves Jinsuo, Jinsuo likes Liu Qing. It’s a perfect match. It also makes for a hilarious scene. Liu Qing is no Erkang when it comes to poetic confessions, he’s in fact the very opposite, so much so that he almost chops his own hand off while trying to confess.
But confess they both did. And for the first time, I think I actually like Jinsuo.
Back to Ziwei and Erkang. OHH poor Ziwei and Erkang. Nope, she still can’t see.
Ziwei is at the lowest point of her life right now and doesn’t want to see anyone, even Erkang. ESPECIALLY Erkang, in fact. She detests the idea of having to depend on him and snaps at him for trying to help. So even though both of them were pretty gung-ho about the whole “depending on one another till we grow old”, actually having to do it is not fun at all.
I’ve gotta say that it’s strangely satisfying to see Ziwei shove Erkang away so determinedly. She’s very serious this time about being left alone. And you know what? She’s right. This is a brutal wound on her physically and mentally; and if Erkang thinks a few hugs and renewed vows can heal it, well… just… just take a step back, OK?
But then Ziwei tells Erkang to go back home and marry Qinger… I mean, what’s that about? How is it going to help anyone? And girl, you’ve got to stop giving your man’s hand to other people before checking with him. This isn’t the first time you’ve done this.
The doctor in this town can’t do anything about it. When have drama doctors ever been able to do anything about anything, anyway?
But they don’t have to wait for long before Xiaoyanzi and the other two guys arrive.
Yongqi is like: Why is Ziwei sitting on the floor?
Erkang is like: We’re doomed. We’re all dooooomed. We’re going back to the capital city to heal Ziwei’s eyes even if we will get caught and die! We don’t mind dying!
Xiaoyanzi is like: Hey Xiaojian! Pull something magical out of a hat or something! (It’s cute how she turns to Xiaojian for everything now.)
And Xiaojian is like: okay calm down, nobody’s going back anywhere and nobody’s dying. We’ll just go to the next big city and talk to the doctors there. (Which I think is a reasonable solution. If Erkang hadn’t been so panicky, he would’ve thought of that too.)
Anyway, the weepy couple agree to go with Xiaojian’s plan. With her friends around her once again, Ziwei calms down a little and decides to take on this challenge with her head held high.
Back at the palace, the emperor calls his men a bunch of idiots for letting the kids escape and also injuring them.
