This is kind of a filler episode. Not a lot happens, but it’s still fun.
EPISODE 22 RECAP
Hanxiang takes care of the emperor’s injury in secret per his order. He, on the other hand, keeps grabbing her randomly. Please rein it in, dude, I’m trying to forget what you did to Hanxiang the other day but you’re not making it easy.
Anyway, the dowager walks in on them one day and demands to see the emperor’s arm, scaring them both. They can’t hide it anymore, because the dowager orders an army of physicians over to take care of that scratch on the emperor’s arm.
The gang, however, is having a better time than Hanxiang. Yongqi probably believes that Xiaoyanzi hasn’t caused enough trouble so he bought her a parrot. Surprisingly, Erkang seems to be on board with this too. They all just want to have some fun, I believe.
On the same day, Jinsuo talks to Erkang and agrees to forget the whole thing (that never actually happened) between them.
Erkang is completely stunned by the wisdom of the women around him.
Later on that day, Hanxiang comes over to tell these kids the truth. Now that she’s injured the emperor, she knows her chance of surviving the dowager’s wrath is small, so she agrees to execute that escape plan with Meng Dan.
This makes the gang both worried and excited, they go to the restaurant and tell Meng Dan about it. By the way, it’s Meng Dan just staying here rent-free?
Now, these kids are very prepared with their plans, they bring maps and everything. However, it seems they don’t care enough to think that there might be a chance someone is listening to them in the next room, so they talk like they were the only ones in that restaurant. Well, they aren’t.
It’s Xiaojian.
They discover his presence when he starts playing his flute, Xiaoyanzi runs to the next room immediately and punches Xiaojian in the face despite his effort to explain that he was just trying to warn them that they were way too loud.
