One day, Orchid turns on her charm and asks Devy whether he would do everything to make her happy. Nonchalantly, he says yes. Orchid then asks Devy if he could go back to wherever his realm is as a favor for her. Of course, he says no. Not even after she has fixed the Destiny Book for him, he specifies.
Orchid takes this as further proof that Devy has fallen for her.
During this conversation, Changheng’s name comes up. Orchid praises Changheng’s fighting skills and states that he would be able to beat up the Moon Lord if necessary.
‘That boy can’t be compared to the Moon Lord’, Devy responds. I know that Dongfang is talking about their age, and Changheng is definitely younger in that sense, but it’s pretty hilarious to hear him calling Changheng a “boy” when he looks like one himself.
Devy emphasizes again that Orchid is “special” to him, and that he intends to stick with her for as long as he feels necessary. Orchid is truly annoyed now. She enunciates one more time that she likes Changheng, and no one else.
Devy is confused to see her so emotional. And guess what he looks like right now. A “boy”.
Next, we get a glimpse of a villain who has been working behind the scene to kidnap innocent fairies among other things.
Yes, that is… a great disguise. I promise I cannot tell whom that chin belongs to at all.
A bit later, Devy does something that he believes is smart: transforming into Changheng. He believes this should make Orchid happy since she likes Changheng so much. Unsurprisingly, Orchid tells him to get lost.
We get introduced to a new character: Dayin, a fairy who is studying for the upcoming immortal exam. She’s hoping to become Changheng’s colleague and… that his mysterious fiancée will never be found. Another member of the God of War’s fan club.
Back to Devy, he is having an emergency meeting with his Black Dragon assistant. At one point, he comments with a passion that taking care of a plant is so much harder than conquering the world. Which is the drama’s not-so-subtle way of delivering the theme they believe would make every girl squeal and twirl: you make him think more than the entire world.
Comes the day of the immortal exam. The objective: catch a beast that looks like a baby Yeti.
Orchid runs into some difficulty because none of the other fairies like her. Devy follows her into the examination ground, of course. Since security is almost nonexistent here. But it’s a good thing that he helps her fight off the bullies because these petty fights are usually a waste of time. Just show me some real exam material, would you?
Orchid, aware that she is weak in magic, uses a different approach to get the attention of the beast — she feeds him his favorite kind of grass. Outside the dome, all the judges see what’s going on. Changheng can’t stop commenting on Orchid’s intelligence and kindness, making his friend go, dude, are you paid to advertise for her?
Now, during the test, the beast gets bewitched and goes crazy. Orchid and Dayin work together to fight it off. Orchid gets injured in the process and — guess what happens when that news reaches the exam board?
Changheng springs off his seat like he was on fire and storms away to the rescue. Much to the Heaven King’s dismay and his friend’s warning.
