Fengjiu and her Shifu Moye come up with a plan to get Princess Petty to wear Fengjiu’s clothes. The whole point of this is so the pet snake would go after Petty instead and leave Fengjiu alone.
So Moye disguises himself as Donghua. It’s actually… quite hilarious.
The two of them then fake a love letter from Donghua to get Petty to meet Moye in a forest, where they have set a mud trap. Petty falls into this trap and now smells like mud. Moye leads her to where Fengjiu’s clothes are.
After Petty puts these clothes on, the snake starts chasing her, making her so scared that she passes out. Her parents, the king and queen, are now pissed. They already hate Aranya; now how dare she even set her pet snake on their youngest girl.
Because of this, Moye is unable to return to fengjiu that night. Donghua, who has been following the pair, appears in Moye’s place and dons a mask before Fengjiu can recognize him. Thinking it’s Moye, Fengjiu spends the night hanging out with him.
They go to a flower meadow, and despite this level of light on their faces, Fengjiu still has no clue.
They start talking about love and heartbreak and all that stuff. Just the regular Shifu-disciple stuff, I guess. Fengjiu expresses that Moye must have loved Aranya, she can tell by the way he talks. So outside of their own love lives, both Fengjiu and Bai Qian are very perceptive.
At the end of the day, Donghua reveals himself. Fengjiu runs away in shock.
Next, because of the snake deal, Fengjiu gets locked up by the king. Behind their parents’ back, Petty has Fengjiu moved to another cage. With spikes inside! Well, there’s a line between annoying and evil, this girl has just crossed that line.
Not only that, when a fire breaks out, she leaves Fengjiu in the cage to die.
Luckily, Shenye, the black-haired Donghua, swoops in to save her and brings her to a safe place. Hmm, this ship is slowly establishing its appeal. And yes, it’s the same Donghua face, but the tension is better between him and Fengjiu considering the woman he loved actually died so his depression is probably more severe than White-Haired at the moment.
Donghua, on the other hand, also marches into that prison to look for Fengjiu. He promises he won’t let her get hurt again. The promise usually made right before the female lead gets hurt again.
For me all this chapters are goldddd, ShenYe – Fengjiu – Su Moye tension is pricelessssss, Donghua being kind of a secondary character or just “another suitor” feells goood jajjajajajaa. And thanks to Feng’s selective memory, she starts to empatize with Aranya’s terrible fate, and feel more and more sorry about herself for waiting for Donghua. And she does not remember the f!&@^^#^ fruit incident… when she finds out, I really hope Donghua suffers… just a little.. just a little.
