More complicated stuff is revealed in this episode.
First of all, there are two other princesses in this Dream Realm, a petty one and a quiet one who’s probably also petty, but in a more subtle way. We’ll be referring to them as Quiet and Petty from here on for simplicity’s sake.
These two princesses have a conversation with Donghua about Quiet’s health. We learn from Petty that the man Donghua is playing is actually Aranya’s husband. And that’s it for the dream about General Ye and Fengjiu getting together in this arc…
Donghua doesn’t care a whole lot yet because he still doesn’t know Aranya’s face.
During a party afterwards, Donghua kind of “smells” Fengjiu’s spirit and guesses that she is somewhere around. See? Where was all this “smelling” all along? You could have made the connection between Fengjiu and your pet fox a lot sooner.
Fengjiu doesn’t want to attend that party because the pet snake is hanging around. Instead, she hides in the garden, eating nuts and talking to Moye (aka Sea Prince, aka “Shifu”).
That night, Moye discovers ANOTHER mystery: The part of Fengjiu’s spirit that falls into this Dream is inside Aranya’s body, there’s nothing of her inside Quiet. Donghua only thinks there is, that’s why he is so attentive to Quiet.
Then Moye recites Aranya’s favorite tea flavor in a strangely obsessive manner and vows to get to the bottom of her mysterious death (the real Aranya, that is). Hmm, sounds like another Shifu who wishes he wasn’t the girl’s Shifu.
The next morning, Fengjiu goes to see Quiet and Petty to have breakfast with them. Family obligation, I guess. She meets Donghua there, who petrifies at the sight of her. She, however, doesn’t recognize him. Look at that you’re-nothing-to-me face. Sweet, innocent vengeance.
Petty seems to have a crush on Donghua; she is also angry on behalf of her sister Quiet who… also has a crush on Donghua (?). Anyway, they both want to spend time with Donghua and believe that Fengjiu is beneath them, that’s the point.
After a few snarky exchanges, Fengjiu excuses herself and goes to hang out with Moye again.
Donghua follows them, still unsure what to do. Not that I like this Moye guy, but if he contributes to making Donghua suffer in this arc, I can be his ally for a while.
Ohhh I never thought about it.. Su Moye making Donghua suffer would have been great indeed… but the think is: who dares to do that to the all mighty
And something else… could this guy be somewhat related to the first brother of the Moyuan’s disciples? They’re are both princes from the same sea….
