Dream of Splendour – Unhelpful Recap (Ep. 31)

Pan’er steps up and speaks for Chi Pan as well as all the merchants there. She makes a speech that the official and his team cannot argue against, but as usual, they blurt out a random reason to attempt to have her arrested.

At that time, music raises loudly and turns everyone’s head. Baby Yinzhang is back! Grown-up, fearless, and vengeful.

She asks the officials to look closely at the handwriting on her Pipa. If they insult her and her friends, they insult the lord who has bestowed her those strokes. And it’s a big lord they don’t want to mess with.

Pan’er takes advantage of the bewilderment around to go on with her speech. This time, she earns the agreement of the officials and even gets them to cooperate with Chi Pan to clean up the wharf.

The three ladies have a reunion talk afterward. When asked what happened between her and Ruzuo, Yinzhang responds that the abuse of women should be paid with blood. This, of course, has Pan’er and San-niang freaked out a bit. Has their innocent Yinzhang just murdered Ruzuo? Well, no, she only whacked him in the head a few times and tortured his fingers, which I’m still trying to visualize, to be honest.

On Pan’er, she says she has lost her motivation so why don’t they just take their money share and go back to their home town. San-niang forcefully reminds Pan’er that they DID NOT decide to settle down in this city because of Qianfan. So you’d better get it together, girl, because Qianfan should not be the reason to give up the dream of becoming a successful businesswoman.

After the incident at the wharf, Chi Pan changes his attitude towards the girls and asks them to help him with his restaurant which isn’t doing so well.

Unsurprisingly, Pan’er and San-niang tell him to get lost. But Chi Pan is serious, he begs, cries, threatens them, and ultimately gets beaten himself by a careless Du Changfeng who charges in to “protect” his San-niang.

He Si speaks up for his boss and asks Pan’er to hear him out. Chi Pan gets more serious and explains to the girls why he wants them to take charge of his restaurant. He is actually more sentimental than he lets on. He hangs on to this restaurant, which hasn’t brought him any profit, because it reminds him of his happy childhood, of which Qianfan is a big part of.

Well, the teahouse is at a dead-end anyway with the damage caused by the hurricane. So Pan’er considers this offer.

Chi Pan gets down to the contract and agrees to every term Pan’er and the girls set. They seal the deal in front of Chi Pan’s band with a… high-five.
