The dowager finds out about Xiaoyanzi from Nanny Rong, as usual, and is determined to go to Shufang Palace to see what’s going on. Qing’er can’t interfere, but she decides to buy the gang some time by telling a maid to go get the dowager her supplement soup to drink before making the trip. And looking at the speed these maids walk on those heels, I’d say we can buy a lot of time.
On the other hand, the gang tries to decide whom they should confess the problem to first: Lady Ling, the emperor, or Erkang’s father. They want to maximize their chance of being forgiven, you see, so whom to tell first is very important.
But then comes a message from Qing’er saying that the dowager is coming, and Yongqi is like: ok, I’ve had enough, I’m telling Dad.
The emperor is not thrilled to hear this, but Yongqi has reached a point where he doesn’t care about being punished anymore, he just wants Xiaoyanzi back so he calls them all out for trying to force her to do things she didn’t want to do.
Erkang, however, has his eyes on the big picture. Especially when the big picture concerns Ziwei. He begs the emperor to come and save the people of Shufang from the dowager’s interrogation ASAP.
The dowager is making a mess at Shufang Palace like always with all the slapping and hitting and pinching the girls. But luckily, the emperor arrives just in time to tell her politely to stop and tell the empress to stay the heck out of the way.
Afterward, the guys are free to dispatch men around the city to look for Xiaoyanzi. But they can’t find her. They didn’t think it was worth it to check inside chess clubs.
Xiaoyanzi is imprisoned inside the chess club to do slave labor, and I’d say she has more than learned her lesson this time.
Yes, now you know Yongqi’s value, Xiaoyanzi. Even with his obsession with idioms, he’s still a gem.
One day, though, Xiaoyanzi successfully turns the chess club guy and his wife against each other, causes a commotion in the block and runs away. She runs straight to the Liu siblings’ restaurant and then passes out.
When Xiaoyanzi wakes up, Yongqi is there in the room. Not just Yongqi, but all of her friends too. Aww.
Erkang looks at her like: err… you’ve got bruises and cinders on your face, girl.
But of course, of course, we all know he’s glad to have her back.
Then comes a heartfelt apology from Yongqi. It’s kind of cute how she positions herself so that it looks like Yongqi is taller than he actually is. But we can tell, guys, we can tell.
Anyway, Xiaoyanzi’s friends feed her and promise to avenge her. Xiaoyanzi is so happy she spills food from her mouth.
