San-niang visits Zifang’s school to see if he’s doing well. And because Changfeng is one of Zifang’s teachers, he and San-niang are having to keep their relationship under wraps for now. I agree, imagine going to school one day and seeing your mom hitting it off with your teacher.
Ouyang doesn’t want to accept the new job, in a different place, that Emperor has ordered him to, so he begins to sell off his belongings for money so that he can run away. He wants to sell his family papers too; the drama doesn’t explain what these papers hold, but we know they are worth a lot of money. This is where De the servant draws the line, he begs Ouyang to leave those papers alone since that’s all they have left.
Ouyang goes crazy, clubs De and kills him in a rage. Sheesh… at this point, Ouyang isn’t even a villain anymore, he’s just a trainwreck that everyone needs to avoid. That means you too, servant boy! Why are you still staring at him? Run!
The scene switches so we don’t know what happens to Ouyang’s assistant kid who just witnessed him kill De. But it looks like Ouyang won’t spare him.
One day, Pan’er, Qianfan and Chi Pan are walking down the street when a bundle of wood logs gets dropped on them. Qianfan pushes Pan’er and Chi Pan out of the way and gets the worst of it. He passes out afterward.
Whoever did that no doubt wanted them dead. Qianfan decides that Pan’er should stay at his place for the time being to avoid another incident like that while his team looks for the culprit. Chi Pan? Yeah… he is so frightened that he locks himself inside his house afterwards. He has met with pranks and tough competition, but never attempted murder until now. So now it falls on Yinzhang to take care of the restaurant for now.
Without Pan’er and Chi Pan at the helm, the other restaurant owners start playing dirty. They try to frame Yong’an for food poisoning and all kinds of stuff. But Yinzhang takes care of it all like a boss. A young lady boss; she has learnt a lot of Pan’er.
But when it comes to being trolled by suppliers, Yinzhang has no choice but to drag Chi Pan back in the game. After some whining, Chi Pan finds his courage again, enough courage to enable him to walk out of his house in his pajamas.
Things calm down a little at the restaurant. One day, Zifang sees San-niang and Changfeng together. OOPS. And can you believe this kid’s guts? He calls them shameless and lectures San-niang on the virtues of women. As if.
