San-niang makes up for her son Zifang by feeding him a lot and sending him to school. To be honest, though, this kid still looks way too pampered; doesn’t seem like he has learnt his lesson.
Pan’er read some records and finds the truth about Qianfan’s father as well as what happened with her own father. She now fully understands the reason Qianfan hesitated to see her.
Pan’er has a talk with Yinzhang later, who asks her whether she considers Chi Pan a suitor. Well, of course not! Chi Pan is only a friend. Anything more would ruin their relationship and ruin the comedy.
That day, when Qianfan gets off work, he finds a whole bunch of yellow flowers hung along the wall of his workplace. His colleagues don’t get anything but he does. He sprints to meet Pan’er right away. The destination is the old teahouse which, for some reason, is still in its devastating state as the night the hurricane hit.
It is an appropriate place for them to make up, however, since it’s the place that started it all.
Pan’er does her part quickly, telling Qianfan she knows the whole “your father caused my father to die” thing and that she doesn’t mind one bit. They weren’t even born yet when this misfortune happen, so why should their fathers’ history affect their future? Well well, if only Feng Zhiwei had this kind of attitude.
But Qianfan seems to live in a different world because to him this is still a huge deal. It’s my fault you had to dance for a living. How can I live with myself? It’s a wound that will always be there to bleed into our relationship? So on and so on… Why do I feel like this part was written by two different writers? One wants to leave behind old drama tropes and the other is determined to ride them out?
Pan’er can’t stand Qianfan’s indecision anymore so she gives him the ultimate question: Do you want to let go of the past and be with me or not?
If you can’t even answer that, Qianfan, we’re all jumping off your ship, OK?
But Qianfan is so hesitant that Pan’er has to start counting. She warns him that at three, she will smash the hairpin he gave her; once that is broken, so will their relationship be.
One – two — Qianfan runs over, they hug and he renews his promise. I can’t believe he actually waits until “TWO” to spring into action. You should have run at “one”, Qianfan. What, were you waiting for some background music?
