And because we’re the kind of people who can’t help but notice when a heroine insists she needs no one’s help but then faints into the arms of a mysterious stranger five seconds later, or when an adaptation is “loosely based on” something and by “loosely” they mean “we kept the title”, we decided to make it everyone else’s problem too.

So, this is where books get the affectionate roasting they deserve along with their adaptations, which we watch with one eye on the source material and the other on our note pad.

Are we literary critics? Depends on your definition of “literary.” Will we make you laugh while also ruining that fluffy scene you loved? That’s the goal.
